She Works Hard for the Money

Hi, my name is Nadiah. I have a panda. His name is...

Err. Errm. Malu lah nak cakap. Name die sgt pelik. Haha. Kesian die tauu. Mesti kena penyek ble tdo. Patotla muke pasrah mcm tu je. Haha

                        ------------------------------------------------------------------

I have always been multi-tasking. Constantly. When I was a student, I always multi-tasked. Wat esemen sambil layan cite sambil maen FB and maybe at the same time SMSing. Gile kann? Like now laaa. I'm writing this post while at the same time playing poker, chatting with 3 of my friends, and surfing the internet. So this post is gonna take like forever to finish. Haha

                       ------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, dunno why I'm so random today. Lari topik je ni. Adeh. Haven't updated my blog for awhile now since I've been busy working. Penat wehh. Wake up early in the morning to go and pick up the others, and end up making the 10-minute journey to the cafe a 45-minute journey. That's why I've been so tensed when it comes to driving. Huk3. Too many bad drivers on the road! And bile balek dah gelap. Wahhhh.

And, I've been working really hard for the money. Since one of the part-timers left, tinggal lah me and my brother. And I've done basically everything.

  1. Cashier
  2. Waiter
  3. Make drinks
  4. Wash the dishes
  5. Closing the account - balance the accounts.
  6. Cleaning - Sweeping, mopping, wiping tables and windows
  7. Work the drink machines
  8. Help prepare food
  9. Cake-packaging
  10. Make coleslaw, 13 litres of mushroom soup (cool!)
  11. Putting price tags pakai that price-tag gun. Awesomeee kan?! (Excited plak)
Saje nak penohkan 10, ttbe dapat 11. Hehe. Rasenye cam ade je lagii. But these are the main things that I do. Banyak tapi besh laa. Macam2 buat. I've been only working for one week only but then I have to be a sifu to these newbies. They came in on Wednesday. They are the real part-timers while I just filled in the void for the time being. Gile la. Never new I was such a fast learner kann. Mr. P, cpt panggil budak ni! Hehe Okay, angkat bakul sendiri pulak die niii.

Honestly, I've never worked this hard to earn money. Since I've only worked once before and that was during my internship. RM500 a month was just a piece of cake compared to this. If I did work a full month I will get about the same amount, and that is done by doing all those above. But it does depend though. On slow business days, I won't have that much work. Hehe.

Anyways, what I get from this is job really priceless. I tend to appreciate those working at restaurants more. Learn to be moreeee patient when waiting for the food and such. Penat weh keje. Besides that, I really value money more. Since I have to work soooo hard for it, I feel like I wanna keep it. Tamo gunee. Hihi

Starting from tomorrow, I will officially retire from the food biz industry and become a driver, since there are the new part-timers to ganti me. Kejap sgt keje dah retire. Haha. Lepas ni jd part-time driver and suri rumah. Heee

By the way, the title of this post is from this song:

Sebenarnye, pena dengar 2-3 kali je lagu nii. Mase nak pk title ni br teringat pasal lagu ni. Hihi

P.S. Yesterday went out with my ex-schoolmates. Beshhh. We went shopping (eh, kate nak save duet??), karok-ing, pegi pantai, and jonker walk-ing! Hihi. Hope to hang out soon!

Resolutions

My blog's activity patterns are quite obvious. It is usually active during semester breaks andddd.....there is one post I'll never miss updating. New Year's Resolutions. Lawak je bile fikir balek. Haha. So, I guess I'll try to stick to this tradition. To tell you the truth, I was quite proud of myself for achieving most of my previous New Year's Resolution, especially the exercising part. Cool tak? Hehe. But it only lasted for one semester sebab the second sem ade puase bla bla bla. Alasan semate-mate kan. Hahaha.

Anyways, one of my best friend said that I kinda changed for the better (referring to the resolution #8, I guess). So, all in all, I achieved 2010's New Year's Resolutions. Let's try to make 10 new resolutions to be achieved for 2011, in random order.

Presenting 2011's New Year's Resolutions......

#10 Try to get a job that I can live with for the rest of my life.
Alhamdulillah, I was recommended, pending to results, bla bla bla. So, the only logical thing to do is wait for a placement in the 6 month period. But, if I don't get any news in the next 2 months, I guess I'll start to find a job. Just in case. For now, my parents want me to work on a project. Just wait for it! Hehe. And I probably have a part-time job waiting for me. Bile tah nak statnyee. Huk3

#9 Start saving
I seriously like to shop. Though, the problem is not really that chronic, because I don't always go shopping. But, I usually tend to buy things that I don't really use. Clothes, especially. I have a closet full of them. I should probably do a garage sale. Menarek tak idea tu? Tapi sape tah nak belii. Haha. So, after I get a job, I'll save more, invest some, and spend less of the salary. Deal?

#8 Go on plenty of holidays
I had the same resolution last year, and that resolution wasn't really achieved. Most of the trips I made were quite spontaneous, so it wasn't really a holiday. Not many pics and places visited were quite limited. And basically, there weren't many trips pon. Ish3. Sedey. Lepas ni keje lagi susah nak pegi holiday. T_T So, let's try to make this resolution achieved, shall we?

Would love to go to Paris one day and apply my French-speaking skills. Hee

#7  Moving On
Aihh, setat la benda2 personal as resolution nihh. Do you think this is true?

The past shouldn't interfere with the present.

For me, it is. And for some, not quite. Sometimes you gotta give that second chance. But, if I were involved in any of the past stuff, and if at any time problems start to occur, I hope its not for the same reasons. If not, it would be just plain stupid to be getting involved AGAIN in the first place.  Don't you think so too? Another thing, going on the "We tend to adore those ignore us, and ignore those who adore us" path, I found this:

"Don't let someone become a priority in your life, when you are just an option in theirs."

This is for me to try and figure out. Mule la merepek nih. You guys don't have to try to understand but I hope you get what I'm trying to say. Haha. Canela tu kan? o_O

#6 Be more friendly to people and to the environment
Dan sebenarnya, saye seorang yang pemalu dan garang. Huhu. Pandai2 la nak atasi masalah ni. Hehe. Oh, let's go green too! One problem the world is currently facing is there's just too many plastic bags. In order to overcome this, we gotta stop using plastic bags unnecessarily. Like if you're buying only one item, you don't need the plastic bag, do you? The government is currently trying to make the "No plastic bags every Saturday" a nationwide campaign. We should support this and slowly make it a "No plastic bag every Day" thing! Hehe. *Suddenly I'm turning into an environmentalist.

I really wanna buy one of these bags. Cute!

#5 Try to be less ignorant
This is just a filler sebab bile check balek lupe nak letak #5. So, tanak explain la. Hahaha

#4 Try to be more matured
To tell you the truth, I act like a kid 80% of the day. Is that bad? Tatau laaa. But I should act more responsible these days. More matured. I am kinda matured but maybe I should add a bit more to it? Just maybe? Haha. Dunno where this conversation is heading to. Now, we (Why we? Haha) have to accept the fact that I'm no longer a student and currently employed. This means, sooner or later I will venture into the working world. Cool? Hoho. This is serious business okayy. I have to pay for everything using my own money. And all decisions will affect the rest of my life. Scary kan?

#3 Patuh kepada ibu bapa dan agama
This is the same as last year's. It's really important to consistently achieve this resolution. Both are very important in life. And since I'm matured enough, this has to be a piece of cake...

#2 Exercise
Hahaha. Nak jugak letak kan. Ni dah duk umah ni susah sket la nak exercise. Nak g jog tapi banyak sangat anjing laa kat taman ni. I won't be jogging but I will end up running for dear life. Tanak aku. Huhu. I guess I should buy one of those treadmill kan? Or just cari gym? Haha. Banyak pulak duet. Gahaha

#1 Eat healthily, live healthily
Just yesterday, 33-year-old actor, Faizal Yusof died of a heart attack. Getting a heart attack at 33 years old is kinda scary. I'm 22. That's just an 11 year gap. It was said that his jantung tersumbat. This is probably from eating too much of the junk foods or smoking kan. So, seriously. I have got to start eating lots of veggies and fruits. And drink lots of water. Aishhh. I hate veggies. That's the main problem. Somehow, I gotta overcome that. Besides exercising, eating healthily will definitely improve our health kan.

That's it. Managed to think of 10 resolutions. Hebattt. Hope they can be achieved by next year!

P.S. Tak saba nak tunggu results kuarr. Bile tah?

Happy New Year 2010!

Okay okay. I'm still too early. There's about an hour to go 'til the clock strikes 12. I can't believe another year has gone by. However, I lagiiii can't believe that my internship is going to end next week! But that's another story to tell. This year, I turn 21. Well, barely. I'm 21 years, 1 month and 26 days old to be exact. Haha. I don't want to admit that I'm old. As usual. ;P

A lot of things have happened this year. Good memories, bad memories; mostly bad ones. How I wish I can just wish them away, but I can't. That's life. Properly described below.

Since it's the new year, let's do what everyone does. Those new-year-resolution-things. Gahh. I like!! Lagi lagi if kena buat list. Tak tau kenapa I like listing things in my blog -_-

Let's do it! (Kita buat countdown nak? Nampak menarik skett. Haha. Let's try 10. Tapi macam tak cukup je. Gahh)

My 2010 New Year's Resolution

10. Forget the past. Wahhh. Masok masok list terus serious. T_T But, yeah. I'll try to forget. It will be hard since I once considered that person to be an important person in my life, someone that I could trust. And somehow, the trust was misused. Everything was just a lie. Period. However, since this is the 10th item on the list, you can see how I don't really emphasize this resolution because for me, forgetting means I have forgiven (I can really forget, trust me) and I don't want to forgive, even in the near future because I can't forget. Okayh. Ayat dah berbelit. Sile go to next point.

9. Jadi budak baik rajin pandai. Since next year is my final year in UTP, I seriously have to get serious! I do study (Tak caye tanya roommate!) but mostly I study last minute and I only focus on enjoying. Lagi lagi last semester. But that was forgiven since I was not in the best of condtions. Huh. Oh, and I actually did pretty well! Looks like I have to get myself into a lot of trouble since I strive under the worst conditions x_X

8. Change for the best. Wow. Still in a serious mood, huh? I have changed a little since last semester. Maybe that was just the turning point. Maybe I was tired of all the !@#$% happening in my life at that time. And even in the past. People may say I have changed physically, but I have changed emotionally as well. Tapi tak tau lah ape. Rase je macam dah berubah. Haha. Perangai masih kanak kanak lagi. I would like to try to become a better person, someone useful, someone nicer (tak cukup baik ke nih?), ape lagi eh? To cut it short, change to be a better person ;)

7. Go on lots of holidays. Haha. Ada ke nih jadi resolution? Tapi betol ape. Next year is the last year you can actually play around. After that, you have to start working, and life becomes a bit boring. Insert = internship. Hee. I usually get tired after going home from work. Suddenly, I like spending my nights sleeping and facebook-ing since it does not involve me to move alot. Oh, P.S. I Love You. Eh silap, P.S. I Miss My Besties :(
Can't wait for our first holiday of the year. LANGKAWI!

6. Decide my future. This internship period has made me think a lot about my future. I have come to know what I want to be and I don't think I want to be doing what I have been doing during the 8 months. Kita tengoklah cemane nanti eh? Still unsure. Boley tak google je? "What does Nadia want to be when she grows up?"

Ooops. Tak membantu pulak T_T

5. Be more friendly to others. I may nampak macam ni, tapi I sebenarnya pemalu. Gahaha. Tapi betol laa. Hee. (Ni filler je, taktau nak tulis ape. But seriously!)

4. Patuh kepada ibu bapa dan agama. Oh, ni lagi satu. I may nampak macam ni, tapi masa kecik kecik, sangat rebellious! Woo. Sangat degil dan suke melawan cakap dan suke gadoh dengan adek adek. Tu yang ganas sket tuh. (Ganas ke? Haha). Tapi da besar da kurang la. Keep up with it! Oh yeah, kena patuh kepada agama. Sembahyang wajib cukup. Puasa wajib penuh. Okay okay. Time tak cuti jela kena penuh. Kalau da cuti nak wat cemana? Korang ni pon......

3. Save for the benefit of your future. I have managed to save a bit from the internship allowance plus scholarship. But I should save more. When I was younger, I loved to menabung! But ever since I got a car,  it has been quite hard. Minyak tuh satu. Pastu jadi kaki jalan lak. As most of you might NOT know, I love to drive. It's a hobby. I don't mind driving non-stop. I just like it. Lagi lagi if I'm alone and I can turn on my radio full blast! Karaoke ahh dalam kete sorang sorang. *This is a very embarrassing habit. Sile kurangkan next year*

2. Please! Less shopping! Ni lagi satu. When I was younger, mane suke shopping shopping. I remembered when I was in secondary school, I like to waste my time at a nearby shopping mall in bookstores and CD stores. Books and CDs were the only things that I bought. I was soooo a geek. Cute geek la tapi ;P But now, kaki shopping. Semua nak dibeli. Lagi-lagi time YES nih. "Mentang mentang tengah YES nih, semua la YES!" Bak kata Min. Haha. My mother is already complaining that I have too much clothes. Eh, banyak ke?? Tapi kan, da perempuan. Nak wat cemana kan? *wink wink*

Image for illustration only. Haha

1. Eat Healthily, Live Healthily a.k.a. EXERCISE! Hahahaha. This is the most non-logical resolution I ever made. I'm so not the exercising type. Tak caye sile tanya roommate. Haha. Kena lagi my roommate. I already bought a new pair of sneakers so that should bring up the spirit. Tengokla cemane. Jom jom jogging nanti? :D

Okayh, that's it. By the time I publish this post, it's already 12 am. So,

Happy New Year 2010!!!

P.S. Tak sangka! I managed to fill my Top 10!

10 Reasons Why I Wouldn't Miss Wearing that Uniform

My internship period is almost over. I've got 28 days 'til freedom (kire pakai jari tuu). Due to this bored feeling of mine today, I've decided to share with you 10 reasons (if I could actually come up with 10) why I wouldn't miss wearing that awfully yellow uniform to work.

1. It makes you look 10kg more than you actually weigh. I weigh around 46kg (at most) but somehow, I look like I weigh 60kg when I wear that coverall. Haha. This makes me rethink my decision of gaining weight. I think I'll just stay this way. I kinda like it like this ;)

2. It's really hard when you have to use the toilet. Should I even explain this? Haha.

3. You tend to become famous. Don't get what I mean? Well, just imagine walking in a shopping mall wearing this. It works more if you're a girl. I guess society isn't use to seeing girls in coveralls huh? I hate those stares. It's not like I'm walking around naked and showing off my assets, you know.

4. It tends to become a conversation starter. Somehow, people will start to ask what you do sampai kena pakai coverall. Then, you have to explain bla bla bla. Dapat ke orang yang open-minded takpe. Dapat ke orang yang tak open-minded tu... He'll start questioning my decision to study engineering, just because I'm a girl. Eh, this is the modern world. Girls can do what guys can do too, okay. Oh,  and jangan sebuk sebuk la, sukati la aku nak study ape. Huh. Tetibe geram lak kan.

5. Because it's god-awfully yellow and you can see me even in a 100km radius. Okay okay. Not that far, but you can still me. It's so attention-seeking and I hate it since I'm trying to keep a low profile here. Haha

Okay. I'm stuck. I managed to get only five. Why, oh why my top 10 lists never actually contain 10? Hee. I'll try harder next time. ;)

There is a few reasons why I would miss wearing that uniform though.

1. You don't need to think what you have to wear for work everyday. I basically wear this EVERYDAY. Oh, I wash them okay. Jangan tuduh tuduh plak. I can actually count how many times I wear normal clothes to work... only FOUR (4) times; 3 times during the induction days and once before the hari raya holidays. Waa. Sangat skett.

Okay, ni pon dapat satu je. Haha. Malas nak fikir laa.

see! nampak cm nek 10kg kn? waa

my wishlist ;)

Just because I'm currently interning, I have this illusion that I'm so rich. And because of this illusion, I like to daydream about all the things that I want.

"Tolonglah kembali berpijak di bumi yang nyata. Awak tu pokai!"

Oops, that was me trying to talk sense into myself. But what 's wrong for a girl to dream, right? So, this is my wishlist:

        1.  Watch - preferably swatch. Hari tu, masa balek kampung, sume kedai jam pon singgah, kat airport2 skali pon singgah! Last2, my brother was the one who bought one (using his duet raya). Guess what brand... swatch! I still haven't found the right one for me. Hhmm..

2. A new handphone - I really loveee the Nokia 5800 ExpressMusic. IPhone what? I seriously don't buy all the IPhone craze. A handphone is still a handphone. It's not like you can take a shower using that phone, as previously claimed by an ad I watched. And yeah, the Nokia 5800 is still a handphone but I so love it!

      3. Broadband connection - Haha. This doesn't sound right. Who wishes for broadband right? Okay, so people who don't have internet access will probably want this. I already have 24-hour access at home, so why wish? Well, the reason I want broadband is to prepare myself to go back to my university (name of university will remain confidential since it will hurt the reputation of that said university. Haha. Mcm korg tak tau je kn). I have heard from current students there that the internet is still slow, probably even slower than before. This even without our much loved DC++! Dah la next year ade FYP and FYDP lagi. The internet will be very important for me. Well, aside from facebook-ing and updating my blog that is. *wink wink*

     4. Modify my car, somehow. I don't have that creativity when it comes to cars. A car is for me to drive from one place to another. That's all. But, I would like to see some change in him. (wuu~ him eh? ;P) Haa! An idea just popped out of my head. Can I modify my MyVi to become a Suzuki Swift? (FYI, Suzuki Swift is soooo my dream car!)

     5.
     6.

Okay, this doesn't look like a wishlist. There aren't even five items in the list. It looks like I don't really fantasize much. Biasa laa. Orang keje kn. Tade mase nk daydream. Hee. However, if I did buy all these, it would probably cost me about...jeng jeng jeng... RM110000. Fine, let's cut out the Swift fantasy and the total would be around RM2000. But still, where on earth am I going to get that amount of money? Well, that's a question I hope I can find the answer to. Cheers!

Books I've Read Part 1

It's been 5 months already. Time moves so fast! And internship has gotten boring and boring everyday. One way I make it through my day is by reading novels. Hee. The books I've read so far are:

  1. Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella
  2. Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
  3. New Moon by Stephanie Meyer
  4. Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer
  5. Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer
  6. The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks
  7. Mercy by Jodi Picoult
  8. The Tenth Circle by Jodi Picoult
  9. A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks

Okay, tak sampai sepuluh lagi, but that is quite a lot, considering the fact I only read the books at work. What does that say about what I've been doing? I'll let you answer that. Sekarang tgh fikir nak bace buku ape plak. Running out of books to read (most books from the list are my sister's). Hhmm. Let me think and I'll get back to you about this. Later!

P.S. I dunno why I have this sudden urge to update my blog.
